This Representative spread disinformation through social media and voted against certifying election results on January 6, 2021.

• Mo Brooks made several podcast and radio appearances between November and January pushing Stop the Steal lies, including after the insurrection.
• Brooks also pushed insurrectionist rhetoric and “fighting” for your country when discussing Jan. 6. One notable rant included comparing the acts (voter fraud) by US socialists to (socialists) Nazi, Soviet Russian and Communists China killing their own countrymen.
• Brooks also led the movement to object to the electoral college certification, hyped the significance of Jan. 6, and frequently pushed election lies on his social media platforms before and after the insurrection.
• Brooks promoted and spoke at the Stop the Steal rally on Jan. 6 and helped plan the events along with Biggs and Gosar, according to Ali Alexander.
• After the Jan. 6 events, Brooks defended his previous incendiary rhetoric, claiming that his “kick ass and take names” line was about fighting for political victories in future elections.
• He also defended the majority of people in attendance on Jan. 6 and claimed that “antifa” was among the rioters. He tweeted that citizens lost “faith” in the country’s election process and therefore felt compelled to “fight back with violence,” adding that “THAT is why we must fight for honest & accurate elections.”

• The coordination between Representative Brooks and his colleagues clearly shows an intent to disrupt the legitimate democratic process of certifying the Electoral College vote count in Congress, which was occurring concurrently, and was successfully disrupted by the riot.
