Women For America First’s leader was listed on the permit for the rally, the group urged supporters to “caravan” there, and has been tied to the broader movement to overturn the election. The group has received funding from America First Policies, a “pro-Trump policy advocacy” group.
“Women for America First’s Facebook pages show they were calling on supporters to be part of what they described as a ‘caravan’ to Washington for the event. A recent post says to meet at an address in Virginia on Jan. 5, the day before the now infamous rally, to “join the caravan to D.C.” There’s a picture of a bus with their logo on it and, though it notes they are not providing transportation, they encourage people to follow the bus.”
Women for America First filed for the permit allowing the original rally that predated the riot to take place. The organization has its name attached to multiple rallies in the lead-up to January 6 (including a bus trip to the rally that day) and has financial connections to the pro-Trump dark money group America First Policies.
