Statement from Discover Financial Services

The aftermath of the appalling assault on the U.S. Capitol and our democratic process calls into question the decisions made by some members of Congress who seemingly chose political expediency over democracy. As a result, Discover is pausing all donations until after we carefully reexamine our PAC policies and criteria for political giving. This reevaluation is meant to ensure that the guidelines and future contributions continue to be measured, transparent and bipartisan. We recognize Discover and our employees may not always agree with candidates for office on every issue. However, Discover believes we can all agree on the importance of unity and maintaining our democratic process.
