Executive Summary

Jacob Chansley, the so-called QAnon Shaman, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the US Capitol riot.

[Defendant] quite literally spearheaded the breach [into the Capitol.] USA V. Chansley, DC Court Docket Memorandum Opinion, pg 23, paragraph 1

Chansley stated he came as part of a group effort, with other “patriots” from Arizona, at the request of President Trump that all “patriots” come to D.C. on January 6, 2021.

Media coverage showed one of the rioters who entered the Capitol Building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white, and blue face paint, shirtless, and tan pants. This individual carried a spear, approximately 6 feet in length, with an American flag tied just below the blade.

Defendant then approached (Capitol Police) Officer Robishaw and screamed at him that “this was their house” and “that they were there to take the Capitol, and to get Congressional Leaders

Defendant announced that he would sit in the Vice President’s chair because Vice President Pence is a “fucking traitor” …scrawled a note to Vice President Pence “ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME JUSTICE IS COMING!

In November 2020, Defendant made statements on Twitter promoting ‘identifying and then hanging’ those he believes to be traitors within the United States government

Defendant argues that ‘but for the action and words’ of former President Trump, he would have not entered the Capitol Building… claims he merely ‘heeded the invitation’ of President Trump.
